Since his induction as Executive Committee Member, Mr. Speaker has been taking keen interest in the activities of CPA. Apart from the other activities, this Secretariat has successfully solicited their case to hold the annual CPA seminar in 2010.
On March 9, 2009, the Provincial Assembly of NWFP Assembly Secretariat under the instruction of Mr. Speaker, organized the 60th Commonwealth day celeberations for the first time in the History of NWFP. While Mr. Speaker was abroad attending a CPA Seminar in the United Kingdom Branch of CPA, Mr. Saleem Khan Minister Population and Welfare presided over the function and delivered the message of Her Majesty the Queen. The Function was also addressed by Miss. Shazia Tehmas Khan MPA who gave a brief note of the activities of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The Secretary of the Branch, Mr. Mohammad Saleem Khan and CPA Focal Person and Director IT, Attaullah Khan also addressed the audience explaining the role of Parliaments and Youth Parliament in the CPA struggle for member nations. A brief history of CPA and it's affiliated countries was presented.
Other Activities of Mr. Kiramatullah Khan, as Speaker NWFP Assembly and Executive Committee Member Asia Region; visits to CPA members countries:
1. Visited Malaysia to participate in the 54th Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur from 1 to 10 August 2009
2. Visited the United Kingdom to attend the 58th Seminar of CPA from 1 - 13 March 2009
3. Visited Bermuda from 13 - 18 April 2009
4. Visited USA, UAE and many more Countries for helping Pakistani Community abroad.
Another contribution to the CPA platform is that it has been the very first time in the History of NWFP, that at least two Articles from Mr. Speaker have been printed in the CPA Journal, the "PARLIAMENTARIAN" which has been having a circulation among 17,000 member Parliaments/Parliamentarians throughout the World.
Under his supervision, two other Articles one each from MS. Shazia Tehmas Khan MPA and another one from Minister of Finance are in the printing stage. So it is a record by it self that in one year only 4 Articles have made to the pages of the highly rated journal of CPA, the Parliamentarian
In his letter to MR. Speaker dated 15 May, 2009, number A.46.2, the Secretary General, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Dr. Wlilliam F. Shija lauded the efforts of NWFP Assembly Secretariat and declared the unanimous decision of Executive Committee in their meeting held in Bermuda, from 13-18 April 2009 that NWFP has been the awarded to hold the the 22nd. Annual Seminar 2010 to NWFP Assembly Secretariat.
Indeed, it is a matter of honor, that under the very able leader ship of Mr. Kiramatullah Khan, Speaker, Provincial Assembly of NWFP, this Secretariat has it's their presence felt at the international level and contributed suffeciently to the cause of Commonwealth in the shortest possible time
VISIT TO AUSTRALIA AND TURKEY( 24 to 30 May, 2009)
Mr. Speaker Visited the New South Wales Branch of CPA in Sidney Australia to attend the 21st. CPA regional Seminar from 24 to 30 May, 2009. Mr. Speaker was honourd by asking him to chair one of the Session-discussion on the Scrutiny of executives. Mr. Speaker took active part in the the whole Seminar and presented the Asia Region with emphasis on the the IDP situation and general problems faced by the people of Pakistan and NWFP in particular.
While on his way back home, Mr. Speaker was invited by the people of Turkey where he visited from 31st of May to the 5th of June, 2009 where he took part and discussed-gaveaway-lectures on the IDP and general Security issue in NWFP and Pakistan. Mr. Speaker received great respect and moral support from the people of Turkey for the people of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
